Built in Conditions Most Builders Never See
While working as a general contractor in Juneau, Alaska, Travis restored and lived aboard a 108-foot wooden vessel originally built in the 1940s. This wasn’t just a renovation—it was a full transformation into a functional living space designed to handle everyday life on the water in Alaska’s demanding conditions.

Travis and Belinda’s experience goes far beyond traditional home building. While living in Juneau, Alaska, Travis worked as a general contractor, taking on a wide range of projects including residential construction, remodels, and marine work. During that time, he also restored and lived aboard a 108-foot wooden boat originally built in the 1940s—transforming it into a space that was not only beautiful, but fully functional for everyday life on the water. From working on homes to rebuilding vessels in demanding conditions, that level of hands-on experience and problem-solving is what Hamilton Homes brings to every project today.

While living on a rural homestead, Travis built ADUs, tiny homes, and oceanfront custom homes. Travis and Belinda raised their three children surrounded by livestock—including goats and a donkey named Sugar—while building homes designed for tropical conditions.
